The Digital Maturity Inventory (DIMI)

The multi-faceted and ubiquitous nature of young people’s mobile device use has raised the need for new perspectives and measures which go beyond existing concepts of digital addiction and screen time.

Building on theories of psychosocial maturity and self-determination theory, DIGYMATEX researchers from the University of Vienna and Aarhus University conceptualized Digital Maturity as a novel view on young people’s digital technology use. To measure digital maturity, they developed the multi-dimensional Digital Maturity Inventory (DIMI).
